Our Story

Oy Menita Ab was founded in 1960. The first store was located in Helsinki for a long time. The family business expanded to Espoo in the 2000s when a store was also opened in Soukka.

Menita has a strong knowledge of the craft industry, we have launched many of our own yarn brands, such as the popular Menita Lasse and Menita Pia yarns. Other of our own brands have also been Menita baby alpaca DK, Menita Baby alpaca lace and Menita Cotton Dream.

You can also find several other high-quality threads and accessories from many different manufacturers. Over the years, our selection has grown not only with knitting yarns and accessories, but also with fabrics. The online store started operating in 2017.

Menita is still, after 65 years, a family-owned company and we employ 6 permanent employees. Our store is currently located in Espoo Soukka. Over the years, the small store has expanded to two floors and you can find yarns, fabrics and accessories under the same roof. Our online store also operates in Soukka, in the same location as the store.
